For the past 3 months (and really… longer than that) I knew this post would be coming. I am going to stop blogging for now and start fresh with everything.
I’ve thought long and hard about doing this, and I know it is the right thing to do. Whilst my passion for computers, programming, and the Internet will never fade - my personal life has caused the the quality of this blog to go completely downhill.
When I say start fresh with everything - I mean everything - from this site to my personal life. Lately I’ve been needlessly getting more and more stressed, I’ve been getting more secluded, and even more angry.
The sad thing is if my good friends from school (including Matt, who occasionally drops a nice comment on here) saw me now they would probably think “who are you and what the f#$* did you do with Jeremy?”. After having a truly pointless, horrible argument with my family earlier today - on Christmas Eve - I have to ask myself the same question as well. Only someone who has some issues to resolve or who is an absolute asshole argues with family this close to Christmas.
I used to be one of the nicest guys you could ever meet - but lately I’ve been nothing but stupid and angry. I just figure enough is enough and it is time to take control again, mend up my personal life, and re-ignite the passion that used to make me work with so much determination.
This is not goodbye, it is merely, “See you in a few months.”

Well, it’s that time of the year again. Good ol’ end of year holidays.
To celebrate just how politically correct America is becoming I’ve mixed together a horrible poem entitled: We Wish You A PC Holiday. I just showed it to a few people who I know are extreme Christmas-hating Atheists (although… at least they are not like the 1% of Atheists and Agnostics who use and abuse the legal system and Constitution to attack any religious symbol) and even they got a kick out of it. I made it strictly as a joke - so please don’t take it too seriously.
Anyway, enjoy:

We wish you a PC Holiday;
We wish you a PC Holiday;
We wish you a PC Holiday and a legalistic new year;
Good summonses we bring, to you and your beliefs;
Good summonses for December 25 and a legalistic new year
Now let’s give you some new censorship;
Now let’s give you some new censorship;
Now let’s give you some new censorship and a pile of atheistic cheer;
We won’t go until we’ve screwed you;
We won’t go until we’ve screwed you;
We won’t go until we’ve screwed you, so let’s sign it into law right here
We wish you a PC Holiday;
We wish you a PC Holiday;
We wish you a PC Holiday and a legalistic new year!

Dare I say it?
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Now if only Wal Mart and Target would get brave and stand up to the .05% of loud mouths and say that to the 99.95% of people who like Christmas who walk into their stores, the world would be a much better place. It’s pretty sad though… when I said “Have a good Christmas” to a cashier at Target the other day I could have sworn I saw her wince a bit. If an Agnostic like me is noticing weird things like that then something must be up.

For the past week or so I haven’t been commenting on any forums or blogs that I regularly visit, and I haven’t really been on IM. For 2 days I was horribly sick was some awful stomach bug (I was sicker than I have been in years… stuck in the bathroom for 2 days straight), and to top it off we got a good 6 or so inches of snow the other day. Yeah, it was fun shoveling snow while horribly sick.
To top it all off they are expecting another 6-12+ inches of snow tomorrow! Oh well. Guess it is time to invent the snow-melt-o-matic 3000?
Just figured I’d let y’all know what is up and why I’ve pretty much disappeared for the past many days.

Here Comes Another Bubble
Just in case you haven’t seen it already…
Wikipedia Going CC
Wikipedia will be transitioning over to a Creative Commons compatible license. While this is good news, I still really don’t get why the hell they even use a license… they don’t even do anything if someone uses their content and publishes it in a book. Just public domain it and be done with it.
Apple Marketshare Is Going Up
Hmm, cool. So if OS X took 1.4% of the window’s share, then Linux got most of the rest I’d assume?
Snow Storm
We recently had a pretty nasty little show storm, and we got nearly a foot of snow in one night. I feel bad for our poor grill:
CMS Screenshot
I’ll admit - I’ve been lazy and haven’t been focusing on either this blog or my CMS as much as I should. I’ve cleaned up my office - and things will be changing soon. It’s amazing how much of a boost a simple cleaning can give you. Oh well, here’s the screenshot (click for big image):
This CMS has a few great features - it’s very modular, easy to program for, secure, fairly fast (and can be faster with optimizations which will come later), will eventually have built in caching and MySQL management. It also uses a beta version of the new PHP Framework which has nice string verification functions for things like alphanumeric strings, e-mail addresses, etc.
Don’t expect to see it anytime soon though - it’ll be a good month or two before it is even close to being released (and I will probably switch Nusuni Dot Com over to it after I get the blog and spam management modules finished, before it is released).

Traffic - OUCH!
Well, November was a pretty miserable month. I didn’t get to do anything I wanted to do with this blog because I simply didn’t have enough time. Oh well. I open December with open arms - there is no way it can be as bad as November was. In a nutshell, traffic dropped by about 50%, but subscription is up by a good 20% (nowhere near my predictions - and it could have been much worse… but still… ick). Hopefully this month I will be finishing up my CMS - getting some of my little projects done - and will finally be able to focus on this blog once again.
Is Your Blog GZipped?
Nusuni Dot Com has been gzip compressed for a while now thanks to a nice hack for WP-Cache. Someone asked me why I did this - and this tool answers that question. It saves me 66% of the bandwidth by compressing it. According to the tool, MacBros could save around 76% if he enabled it, Pelf saves around 71%, etc. While compression can put extra stress on the server - it can save quite a bit of bandwidth if used properly.
Top 10 Sexiest Tech Women
Am I the only one who has only heard of like 2 of them? Maybe I don’t follow tech crap enough or something…
Completely Offtopic: Local Man Only Gets 5 Years For Child Sexual Abuse!
OK, this is just disturbing on so many levels. A local man (I live in upstate NY, near Syracuse) was sentenced to… get this…. only 5 years for sexually abusing his 11 year old son! I hope his “buddies” in jail rip him apart. Back in school we had a substitute who used to be a Prison Guard and once said inmates 100% despise child predators and they often get loose and beat the crap out of them. We can only hope the same happens to this fellow. Seriously, WTF?
It isn’t any secret that I’m not a big fan of patents - especially software patents. This is yet another example of why.
OS Evolution
Isn’t it amazing how little our systems have changed over the years? Back in the 80s we (well, not me.. I was only born in 89… heh) envisioned 3d desktops and little computer watches. What do we have instead? The same thing they had then - dull little icons, windows… and menu bars. Call me in another 20 or when OSes finally evolve a bit.
