I was just wondering if any of you guys are having issues with Firefox 2.0.0.13 slowing down and crashing all the time? Before the update it hardly ever happened, but now it crashes on a daily basis.
I just updated the AdBlock and Stumble Upon add ons for it, so hopefully that helps…

One thing I’ve recently been thinking about doing is writing an e-book. I’m not going to be officially announcing anything right now, instead I will just say I’m looking into the possibility of doing either a C or PHP programming guide (maybe both). I’m planning on it being anywhere from 100 to 600 pages. It won’t be free, but it will be fairly priced (a few bucks, $5-$10 probably).
While it doesn’t come through in my writing on this blog - I’m actually a pretty good writer when I take my time. I also have the ability to translate any computer geek jargon into plain language that even non computer users can understand (something most programming guides fail to do). I just figure heck, why not put both things together and teach non-programmers how to program?
If I do get around to doing this and it winds up being somewhat successful (I’d be happy with a few thousand bucks) then I’ll get started on the many other e-book ideas I have (I literally have a notebook full of them). I’m still unsure if I would offer it through an affiliate network, but if I did it’d probably just be ClickBank.

While driving around today I almost got into a couple of car accidents. Both times while trying to change lanes.
The first time I turned on my blinker, and the truck driver next to me sped up as soon as I sped up, and slowed down as soon as I slowed down (AKA, she was an asshole). The next time she tried speeding up I snuck in and forced her to back off. It was a bit funny actually - after I merged in she cut off the car next to me (without blinker) and I looked right at her - it was a little old lady.
The second time was because I got into the wrong lane to get to the onramp for the highway, yeah my bad. I tried merging into the correct lane, and yes I had my blinker on. The truck driver behind me in the other lane backed off, so I started to merge. As soon as I started to he sped up and nearly whacked the back of my poor little Saturn. I had to stay in my current lane, wait till the traffic in the other lane emptied then turned. Illegal turn, but oh well.
Now I can’t blame him for being a little peeved, since it was my fault I got into the wrong lane, but there is absolutely no excuse for speeding up when someone is merging in front of you (with blinkers, giving you a good amount of warning, etc). Why is it I’m always letting people go in front of me with no issue - yet those damn truck drivers today thought they are such important people 1 extra second would destroy their entire life?
You know what makes it worse - both times the assholes wound up changing lanes in front of another car without their blinker on. People like that shouldn’t be driving.

I’m still chugging away at finishing up my custom custom content management system. Here’s a quick summary of what will happen to Nusuni Dot Com when I start the transfer:
- The site may go down for a few hours - possibly a day - during the switch. I am working on my local server to help minimize any problems, but as any developer knows it is possible for a script to work perfectly on server A and completely crap out on server B. I will keep WordPress installed for a few days after the switch just in case something goes wrong.
- The interface of the site, on your end at least, shouldn’t change at all. Certain things like comment subscription via e-mail may not be available for a few days/weeks after the switch ( I need to remember to add it in!).
- Until I do a complete optimization of the CMS, it may not run as fast as WordPress. Hopefully in the following weeks/months I can go through and speed up critical parts of it.
- Graphical smilies will no longer work. I’m still trying to figure out how I want to go about adding in smilies… if you know of a service that has free smilies please let me know!
The switch will hopefully be happening within a month. Remember, I’m writing the darn thing from scratch - be patient.
If you are wondering, I am dumping WordPress for a few reasons: speed, security, and expandability (is that even a word?). WordPress is very limited in what it can and cannot do - so I decided to write a custom content management system to fit my needs. It will let me do a whole lot more with this site than I could do before without installing 700 different plugins.
