Firefox 2.0.0.13 Crashing Issues?

I was just wondering if any of you guys are having issues with Firefox 2.0.0.13 slowing down and crashing all the time? Before the update it hardly ever happened, but now it crashes on a daily basis.

I just updated the AdBlock and Stumble Upon add ons for it, so hopefully that helps…

    Abso-freaking-lutely.

I’ve downgraded at work and home and my wife has done the same. She has more random crashes but I have been plagued by slowness. At first I thought it was Comcast but my corporate connection proved no better - alas it’s the browser.

    Hurry up 2.0.0.14.

    Downgrade to 2.0.0.12 - ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.12/

I’ve noticed it does it more with flash content as well. Whenever I am listening to buzz103.com’s online radio stream it slows to a crawl whenever i load a page.

I’ve all but given up on the 2.x branch. I think that its a secret plot to make us help beta test the 3.0 branch, which is WAY less crashy (except on a few YouTube Flash issues - its the same crapola). I’ve found that this browser has been a crashy piece of shit since the Phoenix 0.5 version. Anything after that is just a larger, more bloated, piece of ego for the Firefox team. Surprisingly, Flock seems to be ironing out Firefox’s bugs. Its pretty sad when IE6 handles AJAX better.

I hate to say it, but I think IE 7 is probably the better browser as far as performance and stability is concerned. At least on my system is loads everything much quicker and I’ve never had it crash - but unfortunately it doesn’t have the great extensions. Also based on the little loading tests I’ve done the newest Safari version on windows creams everything else in AJAX performance.

Hopefully Firefox 3 fixes a lot of the issues (haven’t tried it on windows yet, but the OS X beta seems good), or else I’ll be looking around for a new browser.
