This Is Not Goodbye, It Is Merely “See You Later”

For the past 3 months (and really… longer than that) I knew this post would be coming. I am going to stop blogging for now and start fresh with everything.

I’ve thought long and hard about doing this, and I know it is the right thing to do. Whilst my passion for computers, programming, and the Internet will never fade - my personal life has caused the the quality of this blog to go completely downhill.

When I say start fresh with everything - I mean everything - from this site to my personal life. Lately I’ve been needlessly getting more and more stressed, I’ve been getting more secluded, and even more angry.

The sad thing is if my good friends from school (including Matt, who occasionally drops a nice comment on here) saw me now they would probably think “who are you and what the f#$* did you do with Jeremy?”. After having a truly pointless, horrible argument with my family earlier today - on Christmas Eve - I have to ask myself the same question as well. Only someone who has some issues to resolve or who is an absolute asshole argues with family this close to Christmas.

I used to be one of the nicest guys you could ever meet - but lately I’ve been nothing but stupid and angry. I just figure enough is enough and it is time to take control again, mend up my personal life, and re-ignite the passion that used to make me work with so much determination.

This is not goodbye, it is merely, “See you in a few months.”

Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?

You’ll be missed, and I oddly know I do know what you mean. I hope you’ll eventually come back both refreshed and with a better perspective on life.

Till then, have a Merry Christmas and a blessings filled New Year.

I will miss you, Jeremy, but we shall keep in touch via emails, OK?

    Take care *hugs*

So, you’re giving my feed reader a bit of a rest. I understand what you mean about reigning it in and starting with a fresh perspective. I think that anyone who jumps into anything “with both feet”, as you have done with your online efforts, usually finds that they need to back it off a bit.

Let the batteries recharge and perhaps we’ll see some posts down the road.

 You are only human. It is good that you can see you need some time away and work on you instead of a blog/website.
we all need that time away and need to refelct on what we are doing in life and where it is taking us also.
Good to know that you will spend that time with family and friends also and not alone.

Wishing you and your loved ones warm wishes and a good long vacation from blogs for you

    Peace

Good for you to decide to take a personal/blog stand. I find that the Christmas period is usually filled with stress and it’s only usual that any flare ups should happen with family as that is with whom one spends Christmas. That said, if the blog is not going the right way for you, best to readjust course. Happy Holidays and Hasta la Vista.

MrCorey - Recharge? Hah - I probably won’t be getting much rest for a while. I’ll probably rush to get other projects done really quick and then rest for about a week, then I’ll think “Wow - this is boring” and go back to blogging.

Zawadi - Who said I’m human?

    Have a good new year!

Christmas can be incredibly stressful, and what should be a time of coming together with those we love can often end up with the opposite effect… Jeremy, we can only hope that “this too shall pass” and things smooth out for you. I do hope that you’ll continue pop into the Authority Blogger forum from time to time, even if it’s just dropping the occasional comment, or even just lurking, just to keep in touch… and we’ll look forward to your return, recharged and refreshed! All the best,
    Jen

Don’t worry - i’ll still lurk around on the forums a bit. Thanks for your comment :)

Jeremy, you sure you wanna quit?

Yes, whatever you call it, you are quitting, even if it’s for a few months.

What you are experiencing are the symptoms. Remaining secluded, irritable, and angry is not the problem. The problem is something else that is causing you to behave in such a manner.

As a friend and a fellow blogger, I’d advise you not to start afresh. Because if you try to do so, the problem will come back again to pester the hell out of you.

Keep doing what you consider to be your passion, and alongside that, try to figure out and eliminate the problem.

No good bye from me. Really.

The fact I am trying to do too much at the same time is what overstressed me. Easily fixable.

    Thanks for your thoughts, Mohsin.

Just quick note on New Year’s Eve, Jeremy, to wish you a successful de-stressing and a prompt rediscovery of that blogging passion of yours, going into a bright new 2008. :)
