I am thinking of switching the registrar I use for Nusuni Dot Com to a more well known one (right now I use the same one I’ve been using since 2003 - and their prices have really gone up since then). Hopefully it will all go well - but you know how these things are - sometimes they go well and other times they crash and burn.
Just figured I’d give you a heads up in case sometimes horrible happens with the transfer over the next few days.
Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?

I’d appreciate hearing more about your transfer experience after the fact.

Sure Aaron - I’ll write something up for it. Haven’t initiated the transfer yet - but since I am snowed in I may get started with it soon…

I was snowed in yesterday with a foot of snow (I live in the woods an hour and a half from Seattle)… But now the snow has all melted under a steady, heavy rain.
Soon the power will be out for good when the high winds hit (it’s been flickering pretty consistently for a day and a half now).
So don’t write that post too soon, or I won’t be around to see it!

ouch, not a foot here yet, but it will be soon. Fortunately during 1998 we had some really nasty storms (a blizzard in Winter, a tornado in June, and then the horrible labor day storm), then in 2002 or so we had a nasty ice storm, so a lot of our lines were knocked down and replaced with much stronger ones - it’s very uncommon for our power to go out at all (hehe, poor suckers even 20 miles north toward oswego, NY go weeks without it sometimes though
)
Just did my transfer and it should be done by december 7th, everything looks good for now though. Maybe I’ll just write a domain transfer guide - since most of the existing ones are out of date ( even 5 years ago we didn’t have to mess with authorization codes and all that nonsense), or they aren’t comprehensive enough.
