Thank you Darren Rowse, you have answered my prayers! He has been saying a lot of wise things lately, like telling people to not start “make money sites” and act like an expert on the subject unless they are (and run them as diary/journal blogs otherwise). Now he is telling bloggers to work on their content and stop it with the constant “when will PR be updated blah blah” talk.
He also had another interesting point about PR - Google could come up with a new algorithm at any time. I suspect the actual “PageRank number” is a very very small part of the overall algorithm.

Death Threats Do Happen
A Blog Catalog user recently had to deal with some death threats. This is simply a reminder - death threats do happen. However, always look at the context in which they occur. Are they simple “You really should die for saying that” or are they serious “I’m going to kill you” threats? Either way, it is best to deal with them by contacting the proper authorities, deleting the comment, blocking the IP, etc. However, never ever make it public until it is dealt with. If the user is serious it will escalate it more by making it public.
