Where Do Bloggers Find Images?

Bloggers find images in quite a few places.

  • They Make Them. Well that’s quite obvious, isn’t it?
  • Wikipedia. Check the license first, but a lot of images of Wikipedia are public domain images or they use a license that let’s you use them.
  • Flickr. Just like with Wikipedia, some images on Flickr use license that let you use them.
  • Government Sites. All images taken by the government are automatically in the public domain. Please note that some images on government sites are owned by photographers, and may still be copyrighted.
  • Education Sites. Just like with the government, most images on edu sites are in the public domain or use a license that let’s you use them.
  • Stock.Xchng. Many bloggers live and die by this.
  • Yotophoto. A search engine that looks for royalty-free photos.
