Digg User Revolt? Hah!

I love the way all the Digg users are labeling yesterday’s events as a digital user revolt. I am a bit curious, however, if Digg is horrible for censoring the posts yesterday that contained the HD-DVD key then why are people still using Digg (including people who Dugg yesterday’s articles). I’ll tell you why, they are gutless.

If those users were really passionate about it (like they make it seem), why do they still use it? Why support the company that is this big evil dictatorship that censors everything? It is because deep down they know Digg was right.

Anyone who doesn’t understand why Digg did what it did is an absolute fool, and they need to understand that Digg is hosted in the U.S. so it must follow the U.S. copyright laws. For Digg to be protected by the Safe Harbor laws they had to remove the key that could be used to circumvent protection put on HD-DVDs. If they didn’t remove it Digg would not exist even a year from now, they would have their pants sued off and they would be gone very quickly.

I am one of the few people who feel Digg handled the situation perfectly. Some little moron posted the key, Digg wanted to keep its butt safe so they removed the post completely. That is exactly what they had to do!

I’ll end this post by saying this: if you think Digg is dung then take action and stop using it.

Update: It looks as if Digg has caved in and is letting the HD-DVD keys roam free on their site. Pathetic.
