In 2019 the Internet will be much different… and here’s my prediction of what it’ll be like.
- Digg.com will be a one-stop porn shop
- Yahoo? Ohh that old 90s company? Yeah, they died long ago…
- Web pages will be made with XTPDML - eXtensible Transforming Page Description Markup Language
- Google will have the same home-page
- To view adult content online the site must have a photo of your house, a scan of your photo ID, your picture taken via a webcam, a sample of your DNA, and a voice recording
- Desktop computers? Blah, everyone will use computers implanted in their eye
- Mars will have Internet access that runs at T1 speeds (1.5 mbit)
- Networking will be completely wireless in 2015, but then they will discover that all that floating energy can cause foaming at the mouth. It will all be wired once more in 2019
- Blogging? Hah
- Apple will merge with Cisco and produce iPod-shaped routers
- Most sites will still be in the Web 3.0 era. Web 4.0 will start to become the next big thing by 2017
- Playboy will take control of dmoz and create an all-adult directory
- Meta tags will still be used
- Darren Rowse and B5 media will become billionaires because they sell their blogs before the great blogging crash of 2011. In 2019 they will reintroduce blogging and become even richer.
- WYSIWYG will finally die out after a patent troll in Arizona sues Adobe for using their technology in Dreamweaver
- The great DVD-format war will lead to a new format being created which is perfect for streaming over the ‘net and can be burned to a Yellow-ray DVD in 12.5 seconds
- Microsoft will close its MSN division and start their own version of the Internet
- Firefox will still only have 14% of the browser market
- Apple will create a new multitouch interface for Safari that allows fully interactive web pages. It will later be known as web 4.0
- Microsoft will lose the source code for Internet Explorer after a sad mishap involving Steve Ballmer and the throwing of a server at an employee who called him “monkey-man!”
