I just got done completely redoing nusuni.com’s categories. It has literally 1/3 the number of categories as it did before, and I could very easily cut that down even more. Here is a quick look at each one…
General Tips
General Tips covers everything blogging and website administration, and I mean everything. Web design, blogging tips, wordpress upgrades, changing fantastico install information, etc. I am trying to get out of the “how-to” market a little bit, there are far too many blogs that cover information on “how-to” do stuff. So I decided to put a lot of the how-to posts in a single category.
Legal Issues
This section covers a lot of the legal issues that may pop up, like copyright infringement.
Mac Tips
99% of the posts in here are from years back, and I won’t add any more. I already run a computer-help blog, so I am debating whether or not to move the content over there. Don’t be surprised if this category disappears one of these days.
Making Money
This isn’t a “how to make money” blog, but I still like to share some info on make-money scams, and the truth about making money online.
Miscellaneous
This is where everything else goes (stuff that doesn’t fit in with the other categories). It has a little bit of everything, so it is messy. You have been warned
News
This is the biggest category. Every single news items will appear exclusively in the news category, and they may or may not also appear in a more specific category like General Tips and Legal Issues.
PHP
There are enough PHP posts that I decided to give it a separate category. This is pretty small now (10 or so posts), but I am hoping to expand on it a lot more in the coming weeks.
Programming/Scripting
The Programming/Scripting category covers every other language that doesn’t have to do with PHP. It also has general programming tips and tutorials.
Reviews
This is where any reviews are posted (well duh!)
RSS
Just like with the PHP category, I had enough RSS tips to give it its own category.
SEO
Good ol’ SEO tips. A lot of the posts here also appear in “General Tips.”
Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?
