A Look At The First Three Months Of 2007 And My Plans For The Rest Of The Year

Is it just me, or is this year going fast? Like super-fast? It is nuts, it seems like yesterday was the beginning of the year and now all of this sudden it’s April!

Where does the time go?

My Forum AvatarIn case you are interested, it will be the official 5-year anniversary of Nusuni.com soon. I registered the domain on the 14th of May, 2002. Something big will be released to mark the occasion, but until then my lips are sealed.

Another interesting topic is the traffic growth of the blog portion of this site (it used to be its own section, but now it is the whole site). From August to last December it experienced a meager 30% growth in traffic, but the first three months of this year the traffic tripled. Oh, and lets not forget RSS subscriptions are up as well :)

(Don’t forget to subscribe :P )

The growth of the content has also greatly accelerated. On March 19, 2007 Nusuni.com had 250 posts, as of this writing it is around 285. So 35 posts in 15ish days isn’t too bad, thats a rate of around 2 per day.

As you can see, this year has been amazing so far, hopefully that will keep up.

So, you might be wondering, what’s up for the remainder of the year?

Well, obviously there will still be some good SEO and blogging tips, as well as more of everything else. Later this year I am planning to go on a bit of a vacation, so I might try to convince some people to do some guest posts during that week (anyone interested?). Although all that depends on whether or not I can access the ‘net.

I will also be releasing my content management system, PHP framework, and possibly some Mac OS X programs throughout the year.

Oh well, better end this post before it gets too random.

Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?

Dang 5 years…. seems like forever in Internet time. I haven’t been a reader for nearly that long, but I’m hooked now, so keep doing what you’ve been doing and I’m sure things will continue to go great.

Well I started the actual blog section of this site (which is now the whole site) around August or so. Before that I didn’t do much. Actually I was pretty clueless about everything going on in the tech world because I was addicted to OS development and was busy with life, etc.

The site was really just a holding place for some of my work and it only averaged around a dozen hits a day, then I started doing some SEO and blogging and boom, that all changed overnight. Then around November or so I cleaned out around 100 old crappy posts (thus started fresh, but with an old domain), and went on a blogging spree and did about 6 posts a day for a week or two.

When I look back I wish I started blogging in 2004, this site would probably be getting an average of 20,000 hits a day by now. Oh well, we all make mistakes and it’s best to move on.

Thanks for being a valuable reader, by the way :)

No doubt - I think we all wished we had started earlier. Especially with blogging, the early birds have been cashing in big time. I ought to get to work on that time machine then, eh?
