It seems like everyday some new chunk of software pops onto the market that promises us an easier time with blogging. Heck, it is even useful keeping up-to-date on any updates for your blogging software.

Digg and BlogHerald are two great sites for getting up-to-date news on new software and security updates.

A few years ago my little name popped up on some websites and ezines because of some software I helped build. Back then it was up to Nusuni.com’s visitors to inform me of the news articles, but nowadays I keep track of news like crazy (although nowadays I do very little programming work), so I will probably know if my name is used anywhere. If you were mentioned on an article wouldn’t you like to know?

Google Alerts is truly a godsend, it is useful for keeping track of articles about you as well as articles about your blog. Basically if something new gets indexed that has your search query it will e-mail you and let you know.

Nothing is more embarrassing than having a conversation with someone who is talking about a news article you have no clue about. Although Google is usually quick to index major news sites, it can be unreliable. Your best bet is to subscribe to some popular blogs.
