Myth: I Am Allowed To Republish RSS Feeds

For some crazy reason a lot of people think just because it is published in an RSS feed you can republish it.

Status: False

It is illegal to republish content from an RSS feed without the copyright owner’s permission. Period. No ifs ands or buts.

You can use part of the content if you follow the proper fair use procedures, but copying a whole article can get you in huge trouble. If you run a blog that is nothing but stolen articles you could very well be prosecuted both civilly and criminally.

Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?
