Search Engine Ads Are Protected By The First Amendment

In the case of Langdon vs Google a judge decided that search engine advertisements are protected by the First Amendment.

Christopher Langdon is a fellow who tried to get an advertisement posted on Google, MSN, and Yahoo. All 3 major SEs rejected it, so Langdon brought forth civil action. He wanted to force the companies to put up his ad. The judge called the plantiff’s lawsuit “frivolous”, and said the search engines are allowed to post whatever they want, since it is completely protected by the Constitution.

Although this isn’t a big surprise, it is funny to see how stupid some people can be.
