Have you ever wondered why most bloggers give up their ambitions of going pro? It is simple - they copy everyone else.
Now by copy everyone I don’t mean they cut and paste other bloggers’ work (which is illegal, by the way). I mean they regurgitate the same information over and over, and they write it in the same style as other bloggers. A great example of blog content regurgitation is SEO and “blogging tips” blogs. Most of them write in the same style as bloggers like Darren Rowse and Jeremy Schoemaker.
Sure, it is alright to write about what may have been said already. But instead of writing in other bloggers’ styles, write in your own. If you are not an expert in what you are blogging, make it obvious. People like truth beyond all else, if they find out you are pretending to be an expert when you really are not, they will punish you by leaving.
This is why you should blog with an attitude - a personality. Throw in little side comments and have fun. People do not want to read text written by robots, they want to read text that allows them to imagine what the author is like in real life. Is your writing like that?
The most obvious piece of your personality that the user should notice is whether or not you are a good writer. Fortunately for us, writing badly can actually help. Now by writing badly I of course mean using too many commas or incorrectly ending sentences, I do not mean writing like, “Itz cooloz todayszzzz I gtoz a Wii, Itz Mdae By NiNteNdo!!!111″ If you write like that, please do us all a favor and get rid of your computer.
So back to my point, by writing in your own style, which may or may not be viewed as “bad writing”, you are actually making your blog better. Why? Personality. As I said before, your readers should be able to tell what you are like in person based on your writing. If you are one of those grammar-lovers then you are probably preppy, if you occasionally screw up it means you are normal.
Many professional and amateur bloggers have strong feelings about bloggers writing in a traditional media style of “objective views.” Personally, I think all of that is a load of crap.
Blogging is about personality, it always has been and it always will be. Anyone who thinks blogging should be about having unbiased views really need to think, for ten seconds, about how the quickly the blogosphere would collapse if everyone blogged in the same exact way. Can you even imagine how horrible it would be?
Anyways, write with personality, and your blog will thrive, write like a robot, and it will surely fail. Write your own content, and you will succeed, write in the same style as everyone else, and you will never become a good blogger.
Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?

hah its funny you think I am a pro blogger… its a thing I do with spare time man =P

You are very unique in that you do your blog in your spare time, yet your blog is more successful than many professional bloggers’ blogs. Difference is, you just don’t work at it full time and you don’t (from my knowledge) make a ton of money from it (although I’m sure you make more than the average nobody blogger like me). Your more of a hobbyist professional blogger, but your definitely not an amateur blogger.
Better yet - Your an “online marketing hobbyist professional blogger who happens to make more per month than many people make in three years”.
(wow, sounds like a job title some Microsoft employee would have)
Ooops almost forgot - Thanks for stopping by

Its all good I can’t read for crap and I thought you were trying to say I post regurgitated stuff

Ahh there we go, a name for new auto-blog software: “Content Regurgitation 1.0…”
Heh, your visit made me realize how crappy the comment formatting looked on here, tweaked the CSS a bit so it should be nicer now (not a designer, obviously)
And yes, I can see how confusion could arise from my wording, fixing it right away.
Thanks for stopping by again
