Quick Tip: Using RSS For Google Sitemaps

RSS Logo
One good use of RSS is using your feed as a Google Sitemap. Google Sitemaps is this wonderful service that lets you inform Google when you update/add content to your site.

If you only post once or twice a day an RSS feed should work perfectly as a sitemap for you. If you post three or more posts per day, then you may want to look into creating a regular sitemap.

Note: if you use an RSS feed as a sitemap and you use FeedBurner, make sure you point Google Sitemaps to your blog’s feed, and not the FeedBurner feed.

Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?
