Rudeness Doesn’t Work!

Have you ever received an e-mail so rude that you feel like punching the other person in the face? I get them all the time.

“Hey check out my site! Now!” - Hey, how about no?
“If you digg me up I’ll digg you up” - Umm, no?
“Free Viagra!” - Do I need to write a response?
“¿Qué está Arriba?” - If you didn’t realize my blog is in English, please don’t e-mail me.
And the classic “Link to me!!!!” - No, you link to me!

It seems like people are getting meaner and meaner every day. One day they demand that you look at their blog right that instant, and the next day they demand a link.

Whenever you send out an e-mail you should always check to make sure you don’t sound rude. Being rude gets you nowhere, except possibly on the other person’s “blocked addresses” list.

This is especially true when giving negative feedback about someone’s site. It is very easy to become mean in reviews. You should try to avoid this as best as possible.

Plus, you should always remember, sarcasm does not transfer well across the tubes.

Please subscribe, or else I will cry. Do you really want to make a programmer cry?
