By default most blog software use URL variables for permalinks. To get the best SEO juice from your blog, you should switch this to a more search engine friendly format. This blog uses a date and name format.
In WordPress the format can be changed via the administration panel in Options->Permalinks. It includes some pre-made formats which are perfect for SEO.
