Possible Ad Network In The Works

I am thinking about starting a small ad network, free for now (although eventually I may offer paid ads), on this site. One thing that has always bothered me about current free advertisement solutions is the lack of customization. The ads should be able to blend in well (kind of like Adsense), without being too blended.

Anyways, if your interested drop me an email. If enough people are interested then I will do this, and I will email you to let you know when the network will be operational.

For now, I will not say that this is definite, but it is on the table and it is looking better and better the more I look into it.

The network would be on a per view basis. For every ad view on your page your ad would get viewed on someone’s page. As I said above, I might offer paid impressions eventually. I don’t want to give too much away, but lets just say the network would be developed by me a few other people and would use a lot of the framework code from my (temporarily halted) content management system.

Ever since I switched to my current host I have been quite happy with their uptime, so that shouldn’t be a problem. In addition, their servers are quite fast, so everything should work fine :). Also, their servers handle hundreds of requests in a short period pretty easily (even with WordPress), so a small ad script should be a piece of cake for their servers.

Edit: In case you haven’t realized, I am testing out some of the current free ad network solutions to see if it is even worth throwing my two cents into the pile.

Edit Again: Nah, like I said above, all the current solutions are disappointing. They don’t allow enough customization and they don’t target very well.
